The best platformer on the PS2. Ape Escape is SONY's Mario.
Ape Escape is like Sonic in some ways, some are good, and some are bad. But, unlike Sonic, Ape Escape 3 doesn't suck. This is SONY's height of platforming games. Filled with laughs, crazy nerdy re-dos of famous movies, and a bunch of cute poop-flinging lovable monkeys.
Each level is based of of a different movie, from Friday the 13th to Godzilla. Though the game is short and easy, there is a bunch of bonus unlockables along the way, like collecting trading cards, extra monkey break outs that you have to re-capture, and the ability to play a remixed version of Metal Gear Solid as a chibi monkey.
The gameplay is rock solid, and each of the crazy gadgets are enjoyable. The soundtrack is surprisingly great, and the transformaton system matcher this chaotic game like a glove. This is one of the games that everyone should own.
