Simply the delivery of a genius (Eric Chahi), Another World is a game not to be missed for any reason.

User Rating: 9.5 | Another World: 15th Anniversary Edition PC
I almost feel like I am letting this game down because I am rating it 9.5 instead of 10 like it would perhaps deserve.

The reason behind not getting a perfect score is that I believe this game to be a bit too hard for the everyday player. Mind you, this shouldn't be a reason enough for detracting from it but it becomes such when it stops the player from seeing to its end what I regard as the most beautiful virtual journey "out of this world".

Yes, because Another World is really not just a videogame. In my experience of veteran player on many systems I have never been so deeply involved as I was when I played this game back in 1998 on my Amiga.

The minimalistic audio approach, the choice of rotoscoping animation and vectorial graphic, the cover itself (best cover ever produced; designed by the same author of the game), the stunning presentation... These are ingredients to one very successful recept. A result that hasn't been equaled by anything else before and after. At least by nothing in the same category: you think of science fiction + videogaming and there you have Another World.

The game is rather short (but as said before, difficult) and some sequences can be frustrating. But while being short is in my opinion not always a fault (and in this case it certainly is not), the action follows always a sound logic. One dies often. But personally I mind less than in other game because Another World is my living dream on a screen and such fantasies never really die.

Eric Chahi has a big passion for photography and it does show in this game. The visual are no less than stunning and beautifully updated to high resolution in this special release.

Speaking of this version, it is possible to download it or to buy the DVD edition on jewel case. I strongly recommend the latter, if none other for having in your house the beautiful cover of the game. A game which is really timeless and that should be played by anyone who has the least interest in science fiction and/or videogaming. To all the others I say: play it anyway and you might really start developing that same interest.
