Animal Crossing for the Gamecube is an extremely fun game about interaction with different characters and item collection. The game lasts forever and will never end. All the action takes place in a real-time world where if it's morning at your house when you playh the game, it will morning in the Animal Crossing world. You initially spend your time meeting all the characters that live in your town and doing various tasks for them. The characters are all distinct little animals and they come with different personalities (to some degree). The animals give you tasks that involve bring items to a certain animal or picking up an item. Besides doing tasks, you can fish, dig, plant trees, find fossils, capture insects and write letters. These tasks are not fully fleshed out or even competitive at all, yet they are simple and fun. It sounds pretty basic and well, boring, but once you play the game yourself you will begin to understand why anyone would want to play a cutesy life simulator. The game has different events for every month of the year. For example, in fishing season there is a Bass Catching Tournament to see who can catch the largest Bass. This schedlule of events makes the game last a long time and it would take a full year to actually play all the events that are provided. After you have caught almost all the fossils, fish, insects, and the hundreds of items (like chairs, tvs, and gym equipment), there is not many things to do. But for it's budget price (as of now), unique game worl and assortment of items, it is a great game for any gamer who wants a change of pace.
