For fans of the series it will be disappointing but new comers will enjoy it

I have been a huge fan of the animal crossing series (its a guilty pleasure) I have had the gamecube and DS version of the series and was happy with each they both felt unique and fun but this game Animal crossing city folk feels like a horrible clone of the series that fans will be severely disappointed with

STORY:

Like all animal crossing game it starts off with you in a bus talking to a familiar character Kappn and you name the town you are moving in to and basically build up from a poor person with no friends and a very small house to a person that helps the town grow and live in a decent sized house and it never ends..ever

GAMEPLAY:

Did you ever play Animal crossing wild world for the DS? yes then its the same game they copied everything from the DS game and its a shame really because you will get bored of the game very quickly because nothing feels new you will get the same characters to move into your town with the same personality traits and it becomes monotonous after awhile to the point of why bother?

Are you new to the series? then you will enjoy the game the game plays out as a simplified SIMS game you play as a character who runs around and does whatever you want from picking weeds to planting trees the freedom is your build up your house, help some characters in need, build up your museum with various bugs, fishes, and fossils that appear during certain seasons and the game plays in real time so if its 6PM at your house in December in Animal crossing it will be 6PM in December

There is actually a new element to the game the city but it is pretty useless (IMO) the city has a assortment of shops like Gracie. grace (yes the fashion designer) and Redd's and a auction house and the hair salon and more but the problem is the city is very small and closes after 9.....you want to see Redd well its after 9 PM sorry the whole city is closed with nothing to do the auction house is the biggest missed opportunity to make the city fun what it is, is a place where you can put things up for auction and people online can place bids...the problem only your friends can see it at specific times and that's it I thought it would be the whole Wii community but its not and its just you bidding with your friends online instead of just connecting and doing the transaction in front of each other

The city for fans will be highly disappointing its everything we have seen before from Katrina to DR. Skrunk plus Gracie grace the store is pretty useless because everything is extremely expensive and you rather pay off your house than pay 160,000,000 for a bed (and that's a real price) and only 4-5 random characters just walking around the city

The only fun thing about the game is the Wi-fi capability to connect with your friends and visit each others town is fun but you can't go to the city together

Finally your house...now the main purpose to have a big house well this will be disappointing the DS version's house is bigger all you are allowed to have is a upstairs, basement and a bigger living room...that's it no extra rooms on the side or anything and the basement isn't a store room its a real room to put stuff in

Graphics:

Honestly not that much has improved from the Gamecube era sure its nice not to stare at 2 small screens and a small world but there are nothing to brag about they are mostly the same as Gamecube and they borrowed the same camera angle from Wild world (the whole sphere thing when you walk it looks like a sphere) so ya

Audio:

Once again not much here its the same music we all know and love from both the Gamecube and DS versions (mostly the DS version)

Pro's

Wi-fi ability, nice big screen, new fish and bugs, new clothes and hats and masks and etc, if you are new to the series you will be hooked instantly, brought back some holidays like halloween and thanksgiving and added some new ones, most of the special holiday characters are back, can bring your DS character to this game and your DS game won't be affected, the town is a decent size

Con's

Copied and past from the DS version, the city was a wasted potential, can bring your character back from the DS version but not their money or things, the house has been downgraded, feels like you have done this all before, really nothing new here at all, the auction house is a huge disappointment, why isn't there any other store besides tom nooks?

Overall:

Overall this game is disappointing for the fans I thought they could have changed some things up like actually putting things outside your house or something or at least make the city a bit bigger or more useful but its not if you played Wild world don't give this one a chance because its the same game if you never played animal crossing before and want to this game is the best bet
