I wonder : is this precise enough to enable Braille reading ? It would be great for blind people if it were.

We need this technology now! I'm guessing Apple will buy this stuff for the next iphone, ipad and ipod.

This is pretty good, something Nintendo should look into with their new Wii U controller.

this is something that would be really cool for gaming devices. Something to replace the rumble for feel. Not something I would look for in particular but would be a nice added option for tablet games. Definitly would be nice if added to the IPad 3

@shaunmc Point taken. However the problem is the link that takes all Gamespotters to this news. The link states, "live now". After clicking the link I chose this article along with all the others. As you know, and have pointed out to me, it is certainly not live. - It's great to get all the information everyone there dishes out, but it is disconcerting to click on a link that is unequivocal in its meaning, and to find that it did not indeed take me there. - e.g.- clicking on a link listed as 'lords mogul skis', instead being taken to newegg to look at gpus

@gatsbythepig There's no live show at CES this year. It's not a big show for gaming news, and thus not a great candidate for a live show.

@Gelugon_baat It looks like everyone else accessing Gamespot was also late, since it was never shown live.

Sweet, I would have enjoyed seeing this live. Too bad none of this is live.

simulating texture surfaces is the first step to creating the matrix!

Interesting concept. But it's only a new feature of touch and feel. Something I wouldn't personally go out for and buy. If it was placed on a tablet like the Ipad3 and on wards it would be a nice new feature. But I don't see this feature being the main seller to anyone, just like how Apple is trying to make Siri it's main feature for the Iphone 4s, something that's a gimic for most, and only a small few really care for.
