Possibly the best Action RPG of the 20th century.

User Rating: 9.8 | The Adventures of Alundra PS
Alundra was my first game for the Play Station, so I got special love for this game. But hey, I wasn't a newbie, I had a NES and a SNES and I played all 3 Zelda games. But when I played this one, I realized it was even better.

Some people (the ones who hasn't played it), thinks it's a Zelda clone, but it isn't. It's just a 2D Adventure/RPG game that improves in the genre in a great way.

Gameplay/Story (I put them together because the story helps the gameplay because it's very inmersive) As I said, the story is very good. Alundra has to enter into the nightmares of the people, because they die while dreaming. It has a lot of twists, so it never gets boring.

You are Alundra, and you begin with a sword, but soon you get new weapons. You can improve your amor and cast 4 different spells (which can be upgraded).
There are lots of great puzzles too. They are harder and better than in any previous Zelda game. Alundra also can jump, so there are some parts of platforming too, which makes the game more interesting and challenging.

Graphics
They are 2D graphics, but they are so beautiful that I decided to set a score of 9. I like this kind of graphics, I think it's better this than some bad 3D polygons. Every animation is well executed, and everything runs smooth. There is an anime intro with some rocking music that makes it interesting to start the game, and you will find a cute anime ending too.

Sound
This soundtrack is quite underrated. If you played the game paying attetion to the music, you will find that it suits perfectly in the atmosphere, and there are some nice themes like in the Lars' Hideout or the Shrine of the Lake

Value/Tilt
The game will take you 30-40 hours the first time, if you take your time to play the game, which is enough, I think. I don't think that a game has to last for 100 hours to be good, because it could get repetitive. Furthermore, the replay value is good, I've beaten it twice, and I didn't get bored.

Nowadays, it can seem a little dated, but the cute graphics, the inmersive story and great gameplay makes this game interesting even in todays standards.
