Of the games they could have brought back, why this one? If they made a sequel, maybe, but this one is just too old.

I've always supported the GBA when they touch up old classics and bring them back for a new generation, but their are some games who's gameplay pluses are so old, dried out and so overused they simply aren't really worth the effort. I would say that if they updated the mechanics for a new addition to the serise and included the origanal as a nifty "special features" type of thing, that would be fine, but as it is alone it's really not worth the money.

STORYLINE: Your a dead guy brought back to life by the gods to restore order and save the world. Very basic.

GAMEPLAY: Back in the day, the consept was probably a mind blower. You jump, kick, and punch your way through sidescrolling levels and kill bosses. The twist was that you could gain power ups that would turn you into about 3 different creatures, however, the creatures pretty much did more of the same except more powerfully. You still walked in the same direction killing monsters untill you got to the boss.

GRAPHICS: Old.

SOUND: Old and boring.

COMPLAINTS: I don't see why they couldn't have just made a new, up to date and more intreguing version of the serise and added the original as an extra feature. The had to suspect such an old, plain game that didn't have a ton of fan base to begin with wouldn't hold it's own anymore.

In conclusion, spend your money on something else. There are plenty of other side scrollers on the GBA that have more to them.
