Good James Bond style super spy action

User Rating: 7 | Alpha Protocol PC
I didn't know what to expect with this game due to GameSpot's poor reviews and found that I was pleasantly surprised. I've not seen a spy RPG before and it is a good mixture of shooter and RPG genres. The graphics could have been a little bit better however as normally PC owns consoles with graphics but I have a terrible feeling that they coded the console versions then the PC version last. Nevertheless it is an enjoyable game if not a little short. I think GameSpot's review was a little harsh and gave this a 7 but it could've been much better if SEGA had planned it a bit better and had given the artistic design more thought. The games protagonist, Mike Thornton seems to be a suave super agent but I liked the way you can choose your outcome via your actions and found myself often loading previous saves just to find out how profound these differences are. I found the story to be interesting and quite relevant to current affairs with the games emphasis on weapons companies creating wars for profit albeit a bit far fetched but still slightly realistic. I recommend this game to RPG fans but not to shooter fans as the shooter action is a little unrefined to say the least. Overall this is a good game, however, more thought it the design would have been a vast improvement.
