memorable and slightly less boring than the origional resi, more well paced and less action ,more story.
that said the story is slightly more interesting and lovecraftian than resis "oh look the virus is out again, and its raining bother.." story thats used about twice in every game.
you play edward carnby, whos aparrently gone from a fat ginger bloke to a skinny goth overnight, still thats what videogames'll do to you if you dont take the 15 minutes break it states in the booklets.
anyway back to the story, you play two characters on an island investigating a murder and unfortunatly the island has been invaded by a cross between cthulus minions and pokemon (the later ones not the ones from red and blue fo course,lol). now you must find each other and escape and of course it aint gonna be easy for you.
gameplay is resident evil, but with the right analogue controlling the torch, which some enemies have a weakness to however this wasnt implemented nearly enough and merely made objects sparkle, plus the camera was so dodgy that combine that with the prerendered backdrops it was easy to hold forward ,walk forward then be sent back into the same room and continue on oblivious to this.
so as yuo may guess the graphics arent gonna win any awards, there better than resi but not as good as silent hill.
it has quite a bit of replay value as you dont get the full experience unless you play it as both carachters, just like reisdent evil 2.
overall this is the marmite of survival horrors you either love it or hate it, pick it up cheap if you can and then decide for yourself.
