Sega brought it back, and Aliens vs Predator was a good shot at rebringing AVP back into the game world, but sadly it flopped due to some minor elements... of which the most dissapointing factor in the entire game was the alien. I remember in the original Aliens vs Predator I rocked the house when I was the alien. I would be making split second jumps from wall to wall, then pouncing and nailing a marine. The controls were perfect. Then the controls for wall crawling in the new AVP were messed up big time, why didnt they just keep the alien the way it was in the first AVP? Marines nor predators would be able to hit you because you would manuever and dance all around them, hissing (which they also took out) and making your online buddies spray in all directions. The marines in this version were also fun to play as. There is just something so creepy about walking down a dark cooridore and suddenly you hear the beeping of your radar. Its nerve wrecking and a teeth grinder, thinking oh crap im a dead man. The weapon selection is about the same as the others, and the marines are just a tad bit more movable. Now the predators with their new super jump. The good thing is you can jump almost anywhere, the bad thing (but good to the opposing players) is that you cant jump to avoid bullets like you can the marines. The fatalaties in the game were a plus. I mean, who doesnt enjoy going up behind a marine and spearing him with your tail, or ripping the head off as a predator. The only problem with the fatalities is online game play. Yes its fun to kill your opponent in that way, but how frustrated you are when you decapitate a marine with your tail and a predator waits for you to get done and finishes you himself, with no remorse or time to do anything about it. It was a great idea, for campaign, not multiplayer. For campaign it also seemed like the game makers had it going strong for the first few chapters, then were rushed to complete the game due to time or who knows what else. So please if any of the Rebellion company is reading this.... make a patch and quickly, make the aliens manuever like the first game and make the marines levels more interesting (in fact just add more levels like the first few. If they made a patch to fix all these problems then the score would most likely bump up... but until then I have faith that Colonial marines will rock the systems when it comes out... just think Left 4 Dead for the aliens universe... and for all those haters who say "oh there copying L4D, WRONG they have been working on CM since Aliens Resurrection came out... I just hope that it doesnt become another duke nukem... oh its coming out this year, its....
