another classic example of how spoiled "professional" reviewers are.

User Rating: 8.5 | Aliens vs. Predator X360
This game's been out for awhile, so no need to get into the plot. I'm going to do my best to cover a few points about the game:
As the Marine: Standard FPS fare here, think Doom with Aliens and the occational Predator to kill. COD players be warned: no iron sights. Other than that, people with a little (or a lot) of fps experience should feel right at home. Kudos to Rebellion for all the true to film sounds, and extremely tense gameplay!
As the Predator: This gets a little harder to get used to, simply because the Predator campaign is all about stealth. Going one on one with an Alien or Marine is about the worst thing you can do. Move, hit & run, when the Alien/Marine is stunned (provided there are no other enemys around) go for the prompt (cinematic kill) and savor the fact that you are the greatest of hunters. ALL of the Predators weapons and abilities from the movies are here to exploit as you see fit: Heat Vision, Alien Vision, and all the weapons that make the Predator what he is!

As the Alien: Playing as the Alien saw this reviewer having the most fun. Being the Alien is the equivalent to being the ultimate scrapper of the galaxy. The alien has no boundaries, & can hang upside down, then crawl like gravity doesn't exist. Being able to have this type of ability was more than some reviewers could get the hang of: not for me at all. I think that becase AVP is so immersive and character driven, when one is told they are now the Alien, one believes it and plays accordingly. The Alien is the fastest, most brutal, and in my opinion, most fun to play as, character in the game. Aliens take full advantage of vent shafts and darkness- so use them whenever possible.

AVP was unjustifiably beaten down by the many jaded reviewers allowed to review games. Playing as the Predator & Alien isn't the easiest walk in the park, but if one learns the controls and learns to exploit their species abilities, all the fun the designers intended will more than rise to the surface.
Unfortunately due to bigger AAA games, AVP's multiplayer suffers because very few people are still playing it. At the time of this review, I was able to get in on a multiplayer game that I think was called "Team Species Deathmatch". The total amount of players were not available and as luck would have it, I ended up waiting about 15 minutes to play 1 on 1 against one of the few remaining players of AVP on Xbox Live. This 1 on 1 match I had doesn't allow me to give a fair overall review of AVP's multiplayer at all. Suffice it to say, the multiplayer ran smoothly, the person playing as the Predator handed my Alien ass to me, and I was left wanting more. Hopefully, AVP's multiplayer will pick back up a bit as people grow tired of their COD's & Halo's (like that's about to happen anytime soon...)
