AVP has its moments but it may not be enough for your cold hard cash.
Once you finish a chapter of any of the campaigns you can then switch to another species which is very cool. The graphics of the game is very average and is not what you would expect for a 2010 release but on the other hand the sound effects and voice acting is quite excellent. There has been much written about the controls of this game and it is quite hard to control some of the species you can get used to them but it should not take you as long as it does. The level design is uninspiring but expectable. Overall the campaigns last from 7-10 hours depending on your skill level and has very little replay value.
The Multiplayer is better than the single player but not much better all the standards are there. Personally I could not see anyone playing this for more than a month before getting bored and with better online games released and about to be released you may be pressed to find people to play with in the coming months.
Aliens vs. Predator has some short lived excitement & you would expect a 2010 release to be much better. You don't have to agree with my review but I would recommend you to rent before you buy and if you do then give it an good play and decide if it has an high enough replay value for your cold hard cash.(I returned mine to the retailer).
