if you thought call of duty 4 or world at war was the best in the series, think again.

So the story takes place in 2016, a few years ahead, and you take the role of several different characters fighting different wars across the globe. I dont wanna spoil too much for you but i'll give you a quick summary of it in this paragraph. You start as a plain soldier in afganistan fighting the afgan militia and all that good stuff. Then you are invited to join this task force known as task force 141, who do specialty missions for the government. After a terrorist attack on a russian airport, Russia decales war on the US and all the world goes to hell. The game is full of twists and turns and features some pretty cool cameos from the previous game, including Soap mactavish, whom you may remember as the main playable character from call of duty 4, as well as capt. Price, who makes his unexpected return. Now considering the experience of the previous call of duty games, I thought it would be just shooting at endless amounts of infantry, but the game has some pretty diverse gameplay features, such as racing down a icy mountain on a snow-mobile, controlling predator missles, tearing the crap out of Russian soldiers with a mounted chain gun, and..I think you get the image.
Now that we all know the call of duty francise has been very popular for it's multiplayer, and modern warfare 2 certainly keeps the series fresh with its stunning multiplayer. The multiplayer has so much new to it I don't even know where to begin. The game has new features such as callsigns, which are titles and emblems you unlock by doing challenges and other stuff. One thing that call of duty 4 and world at war had was kill streaks, they were pretty basic like: 3 kills for radar/recon plane, 5 kills for a airstrke/ artillery, then 7 kills for helicoptor/dogs. In modern warfare 2 however there are all sorts of killstreak rewards, like care package, AC130 gunner. EMP, and if you're talented enough, a tactical nuke which instantly ends the game with a bang.
There is all sorts of attachments for all the weapon you get, such as the holographic sights, noob tube..sorry i mean the grenade launcher, and the heartbeat sensor.
The multiplayer has different gametypes which go good for different maps, We got the basic team deathmatch, search and destroy, dominnation, headquarters and the brand new game type 3rd person team tactical, where, what else? you move in a 3rd person view killing the opponents,
One thing that gets overlooked in the game is spec-ops. This game type allows you and a friend to do vaious challenges that are pretty cool. Although the spec-ops is fun, it can be pretty damn hard even on the easiest difficulty thanks to these new enemies known only as "juggernaughts" *duhn duhn duhn duhn duhh!!!*
Call of duty Modern warfare 2 is no doubt an awsome game. But of course we have to take the good with the bad. Now modern warfare 2 didn't have a whole ton of flaws but it isn't without things that make you say what the hell.
One that i definately have a problem with is the horrid spawing in the multiplayer. Once i die watch how I die then spawn, then as soon as I spawn a guy knifes me from behind! One other thing that I think everyone knows is how frustrating it can be when you play online. Sometimes I freak out and punch the living crap out of my couch and then swear excessivly, while others i feel like I want to cry but I'm to grown up to cry so I just take as many deep breaths as possible trying not to throw my controller on the ground.
So call of duty: modern warfare 2 is definately a buy. As I said before, you definately get what you'd expect for $60. This game is no rehash of call of duty 4 as I have heard before and definately lives to its hype.
