Video Review - Aliens: Colonial Marines

Dude said "walk forward, open a door, shoot some aliens...do it again." ain't that what you do in Halo? juuuuussssst Sayinggggg.

Well what's suppose to make me laugh now?

7 years waiting for this. ugh it was soooooooo bad. when cruz says "we shit the bed" i feel like  it's a commentary on what happened here. that sewer level was pretty cool though, kinda wish the game was more like that all the way through.

As much as I dislike the COD franchise, I actually think that Aliens  Colonial Marines would of been a top game if Infinity Ward had developed it

Well I did have high hopes for this game. Do to the fact that, I think Alan Dean Foster,Ridley Scott, and the first two Alien movies were great. However this game fell short. A great idea, but not well executed.

I would've liked it if they take a leaflet from Bordlands and Brothers in Arms series and blend Aliens to something unique. Well that's the best they can give at this time.

"Attention chicks and dicks"? That's the most cheesy line in the game.

Gearbox F@#!'s up again. First with the Duke and now with the Xenomorphs. They can't do anything right.

I imagine people having a party but can't decide how they're going to play this game. Girls might say "oh my god", slap the guy in the face and walk off becomes it's a man thing. Well having a party on this game can be underwhelming.

Kevin VanOrd, is there going to be a Spoilercast like with Resident Evil 6? I enjoy that so I'm hoping for some more so I don't feel too down about it. If any game is a bad as this, I'm sure Feedbackula host won't have time to shave.

I think that it's due time for us gamers to get orginized in order to deal with companys like Gearbox and it's like's. If a large consumer owned organisations could sue for false advertising the gaming industry would be more inclined to see things our way I say.

Like a lot of people i was pretty hyped for this (despite pretty much every previous Aliens game being garbage) but it only took one review video for me to cancel my pre-order.

How the hell did they manage to screw this up?

Knowing that most Aliens games are garbage and this was being made by the people who made Duke Nukem Forever, how were people's expectations for this game anything other than rock bottom?

This game lost me at "You just shit the bed" and "Attention chicks and dicks".

Rented it. Not Bad. I'd give it a 6.0.

After the 1999 AvP game, it is astounding that anyone could develop this game and come out with CRAP. Valve or Crytek could probably knock an AvP game out of the park.  The 2010 AvP game was good, and I LOVED the multiplayer MORE THAN ANY OF THE CALL OF DUTIES, but the matchmaker was busted and it was hard to get good matches with anyone other than the British - which caused lots of lag. They didn't patch that game well and the console versions are still broke while the PC version is doing OK.   This game shouldn't be so bad considering the potential, but once again we are given junk and expected to eat it up. I'm buying Crysis 3 today and I'm not happy with that either. I don't wanna kill more ugly generic aliens - I wanna shoot humans, preferably North Koreans/Iranians. 

One last thing for everyone who is hating on gearbox go play your black ops 2 and you halo 3. Those games with their fancy graphics and huge budgets really sucked. The most ambitious cod yet. Bull crap it's the same old crap with different out comes. Who cares soap, ghost, roach, and all the good cod characters died with modern warfare. Those are the games and characters that should have had different out comes. F@$k Woods and his other clowns. Halo whatever!!!

Still looks more fun than Black Ops 2.  Horrible horrible game if you don't have a good internet connection.

sucky game

Sounds like they went for the COD gameplay.

I cannot understand how a game based on the Aliens franchise can be so hard to make a great game out of.

AW NO! TOO BAD! This could have been so good. How could they ruin their chance with such a great license? Dang you, Gearbox!

Gearbox=Borderlands which is Epic. Gearbox also equals Duke Nuke 'em forever. It's sad they botched this. What happened to the game we saw in the promo, still in development footage? Or the footage where Aliens would climb walls and outnumber you? Boooo to this and sad Sega published it. I'll buy this in a month or two when it's $20 by then hopefully it'll be patched and have some better levels added.

Would of been nice if Epic Games and Crytek were involved in Creating this botched game.

After playing this game for a couple of days, you know to make my own mind up, I have to say "Fuck you Gearbox!" I don't think I'll be pre-ordering any games for a while, especially from Pitchford's crew. I should've taken a lesson from the Duke Nukem disgrace, but who thinks the same developer could do the same thing twice in pretty quick succession? One more thing (Columbo style), I find Call of Duty games just as painful to play as this game, so why do people love them?

Back to Alien Trilogy on my Sega Saturn then.

If any good hackers see this, please remake this game and redeem the wasted potential. I know many of us wanted to see a good game based on a excellent movie. No passion, what a let down.

The reason the game turned out bad was because of TimeGate Studios' disposal of 4 years of Gearbox's work and recreating it themselves which turned out horribly.
