If you loved the movie Aliens, this is a must play.

I can't believe how this game was destroyed by gamespot. Yea, its not Crysis or Call of Duty but who cares? It's a fun quick stroll down memory lane and makes you feel like you're a marine on a bug hunt. I don't like how gamespot said that the ideas used in this game and the franchise and have been done over and over by other games. That should NOT be a flaw of the game but a complement to the originality of the Alien franchise. The game designers should not be responsible for making up new concepts because games like Dead Space steal ideas from the Alien movies. I don't see anyone proclaiming that those games suck because they are inspired by Aliens.
It seems like the Alien game can never hit a homerun. Its been years of singles and ground rule doubles. I think game reviewers had the mindset going in before playing the game that it was going to be lack luster, and never gave it a chance. It's unfortunate that the Aliens game do not get the time and quality that deserve. But we say the exact same thing every time they come out. I still think the best Aliens game was the 1990 arcade game. Aliens: Colonial Marines is a fun, short game and actually provides some story to what happened after the James Cameron classic. At least for us fanboys, we have Prometheus 2 to look forward to in 2015.
