Yes, it looks dated and doesn't offer anything new in the way of gameplay. So what. I wanted a game where I am a Colonial Marine and I get to shoot Aliens with a pulse rifle. I also required passable graphics, semi interesting story and as few bugs as possible. I think I got that. Could it be better? Yes. Much better. I was really hoping for something on par with Call of Duty or Halo. Aliens: Colonial Marines isn't in their league. I also don't think it is worth the $59 price tag, more like $39. Again, I am having fun with it. It reminds me a lot of Doom 3. Once you pass a certain point, an Alien pops out, a linear FPS. This game should have come out in 2004. I would love to see a sequel with much improved graphics and gameplay. I would also like to see it incorporate flying the drop ship. or driving that transport. or some other interesting vehicle. IMechs would also be a cool addition. A mech going up against the queen. t is at least worth a rental.
