- Feb 3, 2013 6:51 am GMTthat this game will score probably higher then a 5.5 which was what AVP 2010 got. From what I've seen from the livestream it does offer more then AVP did. Also we saw the aliens winning a team deatmatch and at the end slaughter the marines in Escape so I think that reassures the fear of aliens never being able to win a game.
I did enjoy AVP 2010 but was indeed dissapointed with it, but if I enjoyed AVP 2010 back then, I think I'm going to enjoy this one a lot more. I do am going to play it higher then "soldier" difficulty. Because it seemed to be on the easy side even if the iGN guy died almost 3-4 times. - Feb 3, 2013 10:25 am GMTI'd agree, this game obviously has more polish and content than AvP 2010.
I'm expecting an average score of around 7.5, any higher and I think we'll have a real winner on our hands.

PSN: Troutfisch - Feb 3, 2013 5:51 pm GMTI'm seriously not trying to pick a fight, but maybe you should just decide for yourself whether or not the game is a winner. People need to stop letting reviewers tell them what games to play. Only in some twisted version of reality is a 7.5 a bad score.

This^.I don't let reviews decide if I want the game or not.

I used to care but now I take a pill for that.I apologize for nothing. - Feb 3, 2013 8:00 pm GMTI expect bad reviews, but not because its bad, but because game critics are so useless & sycophantic that they give bad reviews to anything not Call of Duty, GTA, or Halo.
Greg Miller from IGN wrote a 3 paragraph "review" for Mafia 2. He said it was garbage because with The Godfather series & Goodfellas films, The Sopranos, & GTA, there is no need for any more mafia related media. Thats it. No criticism of the immersive & highly detailed world. Nothing said about the smooth gameplay & controls (things which GTA don't exactly have to be quite honest. They're a bit sloppy), or the great storyline (which GTA games never have because no one plays them for the story). Also, Mafia 2 made me feel like I was playing Goodfellas in a video game form, which is a plus as its one of my all time favourite films. The "flawless" GTA games never made me have that feeling.
Yeah, a 3 paragraph review with only one criticism that was idiotic as hell (gangster films had been around since the beginning of cinema, & there are a lot of classics, so according to Turd Miller, The Godfather must have been utterly useless).
Mean while, this guy spent ages drooling over Uncharted 3, giving it a perfect 10 but ignoring some of the annoying glitches that happened frequently. This moron had also bragged about how good he was at the WWE games online by spamming moves & being incredibly cheap, but then he started badmouthing THQ when they tried to implement things that would stop cheap players.
This "professional expert" has also given out account IDs of someone he doesn't like (PSN ID for instance) & told his fans to spam & harass them.
I hate video game critics. Greg Miller is not the only immature dork loser. These "experts" are utterly useless. People complain about film critics, but at least there are those who know cinema history. Miller clearly knows nothing.
I'm not saying that Aliens: CM is going to be totally perfect, but I do expect a lot of negative reviews nit picking over one or two aspects just like Dork Miller did with Mafia 2. Game critics are also more forceful with their "opinions," & they're also more known to be paid off for good reviews.
Games are also much more subjective than films, so that is another reason to disregard these useless sycophants. I absolutely LOVED Epic Mickey 2, & The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, but they got mediocre reviews.
I also loved Silent Hill Downpour. It does have problems (the chasing void bits are awful), & it does have glitches, but funny how glitches & bad game design choices didn't stop Halo 2 or the Uncharted games from getting perfect 10's.

http://www.redbubble.com/people/goodfella2459 - Feb 4, 2013 12:26 am GMT^ Woah - MAJOR rant! But you do have a point. If it was a platform exclusive game, I'd agree with you totally. But seeing as how this is multi-platform, I bet a significant number of reviews for the 360 version are going to be billed as having "the best graphics of the lot", which is funny since Randy Pitchford(of Gearbox) has already said in an interview that the Wii U version will be the best looking due to the hardware.
ANYWAY - before I get on my own rantfest about "professional reviewers" - The reason this game will score higher than AVP is for one reason - THERE ARE NO PEDATORS IN SIGHT.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the AVP games(for the most part) but trying to combine Aliens, Predators and "meat"(humans) into the same plotline tends to have the story tripping over itself every time it turns around. I've played all of the FPS AVP titles, and personally, they ALL tried too hard to impliment all three into each story. And the ironic thing - playing as either the Alien or the Colonial Marine, you wind up with 99.5% of all enemies being the opposite of the one you chose. Example - AVP1(or AVP 2000 Classic) - The marine fights EXACTLY 1 Predator. AVP 2 - a couple of Predators. AVP 3(2010 game) - it's been awhile but I don't recall more than 1 or 2 Predators. In fact, the ONLY AVP title I've ever played that featured an equal amount of the opposing two remaining species, regardless of your chosen one, is the old Atari Jaguar AVP.
Aliens: Colonial Marines, however, only has to focus on ONE playable character type - and that alone also allows them to spend more time making sure that the atmosphere, gameplay and story are well developed....well, we hope that will be the case, but we have 8 more days until we know for sure if it got it right or royally screwed the pooch.

Your precious K/D ratio doesn't mean crap. That and $3 will get you a coffee from Starbucks. - Feb 6, 2013 12:00 pm GMTThe only effect reviews will have of me buying this game, will be how much I will spend on it.
9 or Higher I'll buying it at $50 or more
8 - $40
7 - $30

while i agree with you wholeheartedly, Uncharted IS a 10/10 series.
