I really wish they'd give us some proper info on how this game will control, it's hard for me to get excited about a console shooter until I can confirm whether or not it will have wiimote/nunchuk controls.
No wiimote, no purchase. No screen mounted motion tracker or other touch screen features are going to make up for dual analog.

I would argue that. If a game is annoying as hell to play, why would I want to endure it?
I am competent with them, but have always despised dual analog controlled FPS and refuse to play with them whenever possible. The Wii's biggest innovation was the pointer, and If the Wii U version doesn't have pointer options, then that's a complete waste of potential.
Why would I buy the Wii U version if I'm lumped with the same gimped, legacy controls that I hated on the other consoles? I'd just play it on PC instead in that case.

While I don't share your disdain for dual-analog controls, I agree with you that games need control options. I was relieved about the controls in Aliens Infestation for the DS but I understand many people actually prefer using A to jump and B to attack and that should have been an option for them. Anyway, I think Wii remote controls will be an option if there is enough time to implement them, or at least some sort of gyro-control with the tablet itself. Except for lack of extra features in some cases (no DLC in Saints Row 2 or Tomb Raider Anniversary, no online for Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, for example) , a PC is usually the best method when you have one that can handle the game. If it weren't for the mouse and keyboard, the first-person shooter genre would probably never have taken off; FPSs were practically designed for computers, especially since gamepads have never been required for computers and therefor not nearly as popular on them.

Support of the Wii remote with nuchucks or Wii Classic Controllers is important for local multiplayer.
If CoD can get this right, i hope Gearbox will be able to do it too.

I agree. No Wii Remote support = no purchase. I like the idea of the game. Alien and Aliens were great movies. Putting a first-person shooter in that setting sounds fun.
But I am not dealing with dual analog shooters under any circumstances.

This.
Call of Duty got it right.
Eurocom (007 Legends) got it wrong.
*looks at Gearbox* ???
They don't even have to totally scrap the touchscreen features for wii remote users. Call of Duty retains gamepad functionality for mote/cuck users.

Yeah, exactly.
It would be easy (and awesome) to have the motion tracker on the gamepad... on the stand in front of me while I use the wiimote/chuck.

Controls directly effect gameplay, gameplay being the main thing that determines if a game is good or not.
