One of the best racing series returns with revenge

The gameplay of Burnout Revenge definitely lives up to its previous versions with a few new added features. The game controls excellent both on Xbox and Playstation 2 but the PS2 controls can be a little obnoxious. Now this time when someone takes you out a blip over the opponents car will turn red and as soon as you take them out it will be a revenge takedown which is pretty satisfying. The one thing they didn’t add and I've been wanting in this game is the ability to customize your car but again they fail to add anything like it. A new mode has also been added that allows to you drive your car right into the back of other cars to get points but will probably grow old because the cars seem more like paper and just fly threw the air.
Here’s where the main difference between the Xbox and PS2 version lies and that’s with the graphics. Obviously the Xbox version comes out on top and looks spectacular but the PS2 version isn't far behind. Some of the crashes in the game don’t look all to realistic because when you crash into a car the car itself goes flying but you come away without a scratch but when you crash into a wall or something solid your whole car will be destroyed. While playing the game I didn’t notice any glitches on the tracks or cars everything seems solid and works great.
The sound quality is outstanding and is really the main attraction of this game for example when your racing you can hear a breeze sound when you fly by trees, cars, and buildings. The soundtrack is OK its really not that great unless your into emo or hardcore music plus its the same soundtrack on other EA games for the most part. The value great since there’s online play, over 100 races to complete, and different types of challenges throughout the game. By all means if you love the Burnout series or love racing games you should pick up a copy today.
