Ah. Yes. Well, after two days of wasting time I came back to make the new topic in an amazingly mundane way that I am sure will fail to amuse or enlighten anybody.
It's difficult to find people with similar views on gaming who are willing to just consistently post every day or two on some topic hidden away in the depths of an all but abandoned board. This has been something of a unique experience for me, so thanks for the company and the discussions we've had here, I've enjoyed myself, and plan to continue doing so.
I find it amusing that I'm violating the bolded "PLEASE REMEMBER" to not post social topics rule. Anyway, I hope we run through this topic as easily as we did the last three, and that those villainous moderators don't find us.

Hey, I finally saw your "Hurry the **** up!" message. Well, maybe those weren't the words you used. I always wondered when I would see a message there, at first I thought it was a mod telling me that I've been banned forever.
Good luck to whoever makes the next one, as far as titles go. I think we're going to run out of synonyms soon. Nakrophile gets the "honour", I think, if he's there when it happens.
I'm getting sick of waking up at 2pm, alarm clocks just don't work. I can get up and turn them off in my sleep, and staying up until 5am to make up the lost time is fun, but probably not practical for the long run. Ugh.

So I finally got my hands on The 3rd Birthday (using a gift card that covered everything) and so far I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. I put all my preconceived notions about the series story and gameplay aside, and am trying to enjoy the game for what it is. As an action game, it's not bad and kind of easy to get sucked into (if you don't mind the repetition at times).
Bear in mind, I'm not very far into it, but what I have played isn't as tragic as I thought it was going to be once I put what makes a PE game aside.

I've started watching a "Let's Play" of Parasite Eve. Not far enough in to make any judgements on the content yet, but I can say the graphics suck. Hmm...
What's the game about, anyway?

Mitochondria.
The graphics aren't stellar, but the story is phenomenal, and I love the combat system. It's fun finding weapons with better added effects and switching them to your main gun... making you even MORE powerful as the game goes along. Did I mention the story was all kinds of kickass?
This is the first one I'm talking about, not the 3rd Birthday. Don't get them confused. >_>

I should be getting my hands on the 3rd birthday pretty soon. I got a bricked PSP from my brothers friend, and bought a Pandora battery to fix it. So i will download it and give it a try.
Parasite Eve's graphics aren't the greatest, but it was 1998 when it came out. The story is quite complicated, i think Raycon would be better qualified to comment on the story than me.

I personally loved the cinematic feel of the story; it's written well and in a format I feel could easily be translated to movie format. The characters are solid, and the ending is both phenomenal and frankly... frightening.
And then there's the bonus game which a whole different kind of hell.

I'll keep watching then. Should be a good use of my time, I started by watching a Dino Crisis game played by people who hadn't played it before, which was amusing until I started screaming what to do next at the screen as they looked in completely wrong places for things.
I turned my Resident Evil/Biohazard game off when I made the V-jolt, killed Plant 42 and planned on going back to the mansion before saving. Big, big mistake. The first hunter came and killed me and I lost all that progress. Ugh. Are hunters ever explained? They look like big frog lizards.
Resident Evil 4 doesn't seem like Resident Evil. I've seen a lot of its gameplay, and nothing familiar seems to be here.

And RE4 is brilliant as an ACTION game but it's not resident evil.
And I know many Leon (and Ada) fans who are really pissed that those characters were RUINED.
If they'd used a different story line and different characters the game wouldn't get half as much hate as it does.
Trouble is, would it have sold as much at first if it was just another action game out of nowhere. =/

Agreed. I didn't see what was so wrong with Leon having depth. A little government training, and the guy replaces all that with really bad one-liners. >= (

Probably, I guess I wouldn't mind if it was a spin-off (and less a numbered title). But alas, it is the new direction the series has taken, so who am I to say.

I really don't like the new Resident Evils at all. That said, they are easy to play and fun enough to play over and over again. I have been playing 4 again lately, trying to get that bastard handcannon after I wiped my data. Only two more five stars to go, Leon and Hunk on the level with the giant double chainsaw fiend. I hate him.
I will probably buy the fifth when eventually I get a PS3, though i have played it a fair amount with a friend and it seems even worse. So it goes.
I look forward to creating the next one, there are still many similar yet soulful words to be used.

Whats the name of the new Resident Evil thats coming out? i forget...
Its pretty much Outbreak online, set in Raccoon city during RE 2 & 3. They are supposedly revamping the current 'over the shoulder' system and going back to the more dark gritty style of RE with real zombie's again! No more angry farmers from Zimbabwe. You can actually move and shoot now apparently as well as a cover system like Gears of War.
