While “Alien 3” for the SNES was a quality game, “Alien 3” for the Commodore 64 was just appalling.

The storyline was bad, the weapons were dreadful, the music inexcusable, and the character handling was sub par. Most of the game involved riding elevator platforms up and down in order to traverse the play area, and suffering from aliens dropping on the character Ripley from above, knocking her off the platform (and effectively killing her) in cheap shot after cheap shot.

This game had no save feature, Ripley had only one life, and health packs were few and far between, so a lot of frustration was involved in beating it. If you want a quality game based on the Aliens franchise, keep looking.
