GameSpot interviews American McGee and the executive pof Alice: Madness Returns.
this will rock =) first one was awesome
The first was original, dark, cool. My best wishes for the second part!
I haven't played the first, but have heard it was good and my type of game! Looks like I'll be getting both :D
Liked the first part very much. It was different that most games in that time. I will def get this one :)
@Simbryo: I have also played through twice, and the flaws I'm pointing to are platforming that's dumbed down by the smart jump mechanic, the camera that likes to jerk around while climbing or jumping in front of something, the imbalance of weapons (the ice rod was all you have to use as soon as you get it except for puzzles and bosses after the Eyestaff) and the way the boss battles boiled down to strafing back and forth like mad until you got some essence to attack with. By no means was it an awful game, but I think flawed is a fair word.
@FarmFreshDX: Horribly flawed game??? Have you ever played it??? I've passed the game at least 3 times on EVERY difficulty and the found NONE flaw that you just described. On higher difficulty the game IS challenging (utill you become pro and aware of every interaction), weapons were VERY original for its time and were very usefull to overcome many enviromental obsticales, alas some were NECESSARY to progress! And camera was fully in players control during ENTIRE game, BTW. Plus the contorls where FPS like so the movement was crisp and fluid. Not to mention rapid movements were possible. In any case, what I wan't from the sequel is to evolve in gameplay. Actionwise it should be like the original, more platformer than shooter, but it would be nice if the whole camera/movement/speed and presentation was GOW-like. Combine that with what is achieved in first part (especialy enviromental design and atmosphere) and you have yourself a potential classic. Sequels need to evolve! Can't wait to see gameplay video, then (as a HUGE Alice player) I will decide if the game has what it takes!
I had the old game; never got around to playing it. Screw that though.. gunna play it now, then see how this pans out! Definately following this game.
Looks like gonna be a wonderful game..
HELL.... Its about time!
OMFG, i can't wait!!!!!!! Have you seen the chunks of guts floating around in the pool of blood in her mouth. Thats awesome!!!!!
first one was legendary... story is fuking A W E S O M E.... i hope new will be even better :)
The original American Mcgee's Alice was freaking AMAZING for its time. I can't wait for this... I'll definitely be picking it up for PC.
"I'm sure that's tragic and all, but I'm looking for the Hare!"
Is his name really American McGee? :| Can't wait for it! Played the first and loved it!
Oh cool
This is definitely a game to watch.
OMG OMG !!!!! OMG!!!!
After playing the first Alice American McGee I liked the game play the characters music and level design. I cant wait for this one
cant wait !!!.....The 1st game was kinda an great experience....similar to watching Dark Knight!
havent been privaliged with playin the first one. looks incredibly interesting though.
Alice was, as a game, horribly flawed. Some cheap deaths, crap weapon balance, and some awful camera angles. But... as an atmosphere? As an idea? It completely made up for it. I cannot remember a game that has sucked me in so much and music that has brought me such an eerie feeling. Don't spend time debating it: go play Alice right now. If you enjoy dark twisted settings and you love the original Alice in Wonderland, you'll find so much morbid satisfaction it'll make your head spin.
cant spell malice without "Alice" >:-D
If you haven't played the first game, definitely try to find it somewhere. The gave is visually stunning and the Alice story is so twisted.
The first game was PHENOMENAL and im sooooo excited to see how the second one turns out
never got to play the first alice, but i'm definitely going to get this one. just want to also say that the girl that did the interview for gamespot was great- really great questions.
That tears it, i'm definately going back to replay Alice before Madness Returns is released as i loved the 1st game
finally a sequel. the first game was epic.
Right...Typical EA. All corporational bull***t and seems like absolutely NO passion. Hope the game goes smoothly, however. It seems like a great idea and there's quite a world they can build on it.
I want that game. C:
