Whens Alan gonna discover fire?no one asked?

PAL360 5 pts

Looks ok but not the Alan Wake game i have been waiting for! Please Remedy, i want a darker and more story driven Alan Wake 2.

fire_3 5 pts

Tnx guys. That's all I wanted to know about it. Only a few days now, can't wait :)

i prefer a dlc content than an actual retail release. If remedy decided to make a sequel, ppl will complain about milking the series. let remedy have some wild fun with their creation. Making sequels of the same gameplay mechanics can be quite dull

brkdwnxx 42 pts

ugh.. this IP needs a part 2, not some puny little XBLA title. :/

Colekern 9 pts

I'm pretty sure this isn't going to be the final product of Alan Wake 2. I guess American Nightmare is just something to give Alan Wake's unique action a small makeover. This is just a spinoff. Don't worry, the real Alan Wake 2 will be story driven. One good thing about American Nightmare is that in Alan Wake 2, the action could be better than the originals and still be story driven. I think that great action and an even greater story would be cool.

bootyologist20 5 pts

a multiplayer system fro the horde mode would be great!

y3ivan 53 pts

well, it depends on what players want? Remedy wanted the feel like Max Payne and extend the longevity of Alan Wake.

Rocker6 182 pts

Would you look at that, another great franchise gets a CoD treatment by getting streamlined and action orriented. My question would be if there is a chance of PC version later because of Alan Wake port, but after seeing the gameplay, meh,I don't care...

All these people in here rock becuase if any idiot can ruin a game so can any person/developer make money from rest game spot community. So yes it's great year be developer! And bad year be consumer! Why you ask? Simple people tend not to know what they want like sheep flocking in some random field And developers love that. Just means the real gamers out there know what good game is And todays gamers are next generation fools.... i like that :)

Welcome to THE CALL OF ALAN. We have improved our gameplay formula, by taking out more story and adding in more action, but don't forget...this is call of duty, oops, I mean Call Of Alan action!

Qixote 5 pts

4 or 5 hours? Same exact game mechanics and graphics? Mostly action? What, is this Alan Wake: Call of Duty?

valttu 5 pts

Personally I don't have a problem with American Nightmare being a more action oriented game. I love Alan Wake not only because of the mindblowingly epic story, but also because of the unique and absolutely thrilling action. I'm pretty sure that we'll see a full-fledged sequel for Alan Wake some day, and I'm just glad that Remedy is giving us a little treat to help us survive the long wait AND to prove that they're finally getting things done like a normal studio. I'm so happy that it didn't take 5 years for them to make this game. :D And last but not least, GO FINLAND!!! (I'm a Finn myself)

why these guys are so cool ?!!

I wish Microsoft would have used the development resources for producing a dedicated sequel instead; I would prefer a great story-driven sequel, with action to enhance the experience, than vice versa...

Hakujou_Baka54 5 pts

I don't understand why it keeps getting referenced as not continuing the story or not being a sequel when it clearly is. It takes place after the DLCs for the original game, and it very clearly references and continues Alan's fight against the Darkness and Mr. Scratch (who was only hinted at in the original and the DLC). Pretty much all signs point to a mini-sequel.

YouVandal3 5 pts

love me some alan wake. will deff buy. I just wish wed get a sequel already to continue the story from the first! ahhhh!!!!!!

I actually came in here not giving a damn about this game. Ask Gamespot is so funny. But now, i just might buy this game.

y3ivan 53 pts

@lorddaggeroff Working under MS is awesome, MS give money for you do what ever you want. Very little involvement, able to keep own your IPs, able to drag on your projects for years without been question. however it sucks for the consumers.

This game looks like tim-oh-till-man or formally known as bob the builder, so today we have power tool now if we carefully place nail in shadows head we can make a bad game Now that's all from tool time have great day every one. Seriously if rememdy wanted to make great game they could!!!! they have: Dynamic lighting Great darknes Interesting game design Really obscure story telling But bad side is microsofts given them so much endoresments and also support they've actually lost how to make a good game well maybe they never had it to begin with. Poor direction Lazyness No actual understanding on what community wants Ruining a really good engine simply to make a cheesy arcade game that will tailor to some random ordience Seriously...... is this what we really want really??? While internet freedom these day is almost non existant why can't we get simple developer to simply understand that this is not the way, look at amy for example that arcade game had great game design but poor understanding on what level is actually needed to take that game further to awesomeness but nope it's just not worth the time and effort, if you have kids and family and work as developer you weigh the scales: should i spend 5 years towards makimg awesome game just for community hmm nah i have family feed so no...... But what i will do is make short game that people will need buy so i can make my family rich. Greedy ????? 3d realms lazy studio Remedy lazy studio 343 Games lazy studio What's next? Do publishers wish pitch the worst ideas and that's the only way we see a game that we didn't want but made based on same technicality made..... Ah the sanity.

"They have more on an action slant to them nowadays" I'm tired of all games having an action slant to them these days. It's such BS and it's ruining the spirit of gaming as an art form. Due to the recession, companies think their games need to appeal to as wide an audience as possible to grab more cash and they all think all their games will sell like COD. Here's a tip: By trying to suit everyone, you're killing gaming, and your'e killing your profits. Have a good idea, try a unique game, appeal STRONGLY to a slightly more niche audience instead of peddling the same generic, money-grabbing trash over and over and failing miserably each and every time. I'm talking to investors as much a developers.

g1rldraco7 32 pts

Well that was interesting, but at least it wasn't weird. Do I smell cookies?

Reaver552 5 pts

The story and gloomy character of the first game separated it from the rest. Shame they changed it...

TC_Squared 17 pts

I'm surprised they didn't show the original Resident Evil in that FMV montage.

soapman72 14 pts

i hope this is good...still want to finish the first game...to wrapped up in Castlevania and Super Mario Bros 3

abfackeln 6 pts

@ thribs You must be young. FMV stands for Full Motion Video. Used a lot in the early days of CD-ROM games.

grim0187 6 pts

FMV! I miss those days. No, but seriously, I want a true Alan Wake sequal. While Im at it, I want a return to traditional survival horror! MAYBE RES6 will bring a little bit of that back, but it still seems to have too much action for me.

thribs 51 pts

Ha! I've never heard of term FMV before. Would Star Trek: Borg be classed as one?

thribs 51 pts

Will Alan Wake be facing the Darkness?

TC_Squared 17 pts

The cover of the game looks rather lame. Good thing the game itself looks very good. Reminds me of the cover vs actual game of the original Mega Man.

shaunmc 48 pts

@Crash_WL I'll remember that next time, Hristos!
