Very great. New engines will be able to make games much more like reality that you will see no difference or even may get to be much better than any entertainment stuff. I hope it happens and Square Enix says so too on its website. The luminous team is working hard.

E3 2012: Check out a real time technical demonstration movie that utilizes cutting edge game development technology.
Looks pretty. Now can Squeenix actually write a plot that isn't melodramatic garbage this decade?
There are some textures that look current-gen, like wood or stone. Nevertheless, polygon-count is fucking amazing. The particles really seem to be processed in real-time and look like real little spheres, not just a flat effect(I don't know the technical term in this case).
To those complaining that they graphics don't look good. Sure, this demo may not have intense graphic realism. However, look at all the small artistic details, and the massive amount of set pieces and objects. Look at the huge area and landscape it was rendering. That's what makes it next-gen.
what people dont realize is how much detail and programming that was taken to do. you can say how this gen stuff can do the same, but no, this is far better then i imagine this was going to be. i cant wait to see how the gameplay is.
Looks amazing! Can't wait to see what it will all be like. Especially in gameplay.
Very impressive. But i guess it will only be in a new Final Fantasy game since the chances of seeing FFVII remade like this are far too remote.
For real time, that's quite an improvement. The atmosphere and effects aren't overly spectacular but any gen can do that. It's the level of detail shown in the models that current gen cannot do.
I saw this a while ago looks good man.... bring on the games! can't wait for new sony/soft consoles but I fear a repeat of the 360/ps3 release where people were waiting in line for 3 days in tents.... wish they could figure out a better supply plan so this wasn't always an issue
yes, the graphic may only be a little better than PS3 but the entire game (if made) will be fully rendered as this movie, which means cinematics and gameplay will have a blur since it has the very same graphic.
in short, the game will has a full FMV/Cinematics quality graphics.
The guys still look like they're made of play-doh, and there's still this annoying slate look, this glazed granite look to the eyes that no one has ever really corrected. I honestly don't see how this is much better than the PS3 graphics I have seen, though the animation looks a bit better. The fact that this worked on a PC is encouraging, much more on the 360, but where this is a cinematic, I don't see a great improvement. If this were gameplay footage, I would be somewhat more impressed.
...So we've gone from heroes, to heroines, to anti-heroes, now to anti-heroines...Guys, am I the only one concerned with this? Evolve into men and take back our world.
Square Enix needs to do something with this as a game. I agree with Vid forget FF there are enouf of those just call it what it is Agni's Philosophy.
What really matters is the substance. Yes I like what I see but I want to see more.
Square Enix, please turn this into a game. It doesn't have to be a Final Fantasy game, it can be a new IP, just make it kick-ass
don't believe this stuff until i see any game plays, as this was happened before as well in the case of kill zone . i lost my trust
Only 2018 until this is replaced by another with no release date. SE has to be hiding something big. Though I'd survive another 6 months with KH3D on PSV :).
@Chucknorium i think your right... it was only a matter of time before the programing started getting out of control I cant wait till platforms are so strong programers are being pushed instead of the other way around. SE is def hiding something.
Like with so many tech demo's...Can you guys use this as a concept plx, I wana play that game!
The Technology looks great. Other than the tech though, I was just... confused? Can it really be a Final Fantasy filled with guys shooting AK's? Good example of: Just because you CAN have it, doesn't mean you SHOULD have it.
Middle-eastern guys with AKs? Really?
*That's* what they picked for the game where you can have anything?
@naryanrobinson could have been anyone... the AK is the most accessible weapon in history, and putting a shroud on doesnt make you middle eastern.
Yanno...I just thought of something. That crystal in the priests hand looks a LOT like a Final Fantasy Crystal....and that "Dragon" that came out of the large nest of cavern doors seemed like it was summoned.
If it's anything like Versus XIII we'll only have to wait a decade until we see game play!
I've watched this a few times now and like it more each time. Hopefully this will be FFXV. Seems like an awful lot of work for a "tech demo".
@Breyant Just thought you might be interested to know, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer, the newer one that lasts about 3 minutes, it took a little team of people 3 years to make.
Really? Arab terrorists with AK-47s?
The amount of vision at Square Enix really amazes me. -.-"
@fullxtent
You're a silly man. There isn't a game out that looks this good IN-GAME (graphics). No game out today looks like CGI-quality. Not even FF13. In 5 years, we won't even have PC hardware that can handle it yet... let alone consoles.
@Elann2008 you kiddin, games now on ps3 and 360 are as good as CGI of ps2 games, and ps2 games as good as ps1 CGI
WAWOO it's SQUARE ENIX
yeaaaaaah for sure i will get this amazing game ... love it :)
also the girl is very hot lolz :)
@fullxtent In half a decade? They're not any better than some of the games I've seen from a year or 2 back until you get to the distance shot at the very end.
Wife thought it was impressive, but there's more to Final Fantasy than trying to out do everyone on graphics. 10-13 should have taught them that much, but I guess not.
also, its like they threw a bunch of ideas in a hat and randomly drew to see what they would put in the tech demo, amazing...
