age of mythology was one of the biggest rts games of its time but dont get it from a bargain bin- get something newer and better. AOM is centred around resource gathering, but other games have worked out resources much better eg. dawn of war and company of heroes use strategic points that gain you resources. by centering the game around action, the game is faster paced. AOM is more complex though and is one of the best traditional rts games of all time.
the campaign is fantastic and sucks you in, with interesting stories and epic battles but the cinematics make you want to hurl. the real playing part of the game is more interesting though. some levels are boring but forgiveable.
all in all- only for rts lovers if you havent got a copy by now.
