Cool idea, BUT that is the must disgusting graphics ever in AoE. Why do they destroy the realistic graphics they did so much out of in AoE III?? So sad! :S. Why make it a kids(>12) game? :S

Like the 24/7 gameplay, this game will consume much time.. But will it like in Ogame, where the players who play all the time become undestroyable, and unbeatable :S
    dont like the grafichs

If this trend continues games are going to be just another shallow commodity of the Social Media gaming era, but big business for publishers because they will capture the masses and obviously $$$$$. What next...Baldur's Gate? Planescape Torment? Total War? Half Life? Hopefully not. I feel sorry for those people who are going to "play" this AoE online.

    Omg. noooo.
First. The cartoony graphics = Not AoE
Second. The voice for this trailer sounds like it should be a comedy kids game...
Third = it looks like a basic version of AoE...

Come on... this is pretty lame

Honestly this reminds me of a sequel of a movie that is horrible compared to the amazing original movie.
    I.E. The Matrix Reloaded.

This game looks great. I don't know what all you "true gamers" are talking about. It still resembles Age of Empires plenty. They add gear and even kept unit bonuses. Sure the way your building your town in the down time has changed, but doesn't the addition of being able to trade and fight with friends online in this "Empire that never sleeps" sound appealing? I'm looking forward to it, and besides, it won't cost me anything to give it a shot. Cheers. Let's hope it don't disappoint.

    This is no AoE. Period.

They are obviously appealing to the "farmville audience" with this one. It will be insanely popular, but its a shame. I believe AOE2 was one of the best game I've ever played. This is a sadly watered down, dumbed down version of this! This game could of been HUGE if done with the true gamers in mind.

Impossible. Age of Empires is an RTS. You can play a match that lasts about an hour. How can they make it a persistent world online game? Intriguing idea, but the chances of failure seem high.

I don't really like the cartoony style, but whatever, it's free.

a perfect example of what big business does when it acquires a successful model. And what happens when this fails (too)? They'll just buy out the competition and ruin that next just like the last several years of microsoft acquisitions. These big companies cant do anything right except take idiots money, an buy out anyone that actually does their job. Eventually the public will latch on to something you've bought out and you can exploit them, rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Its a cursed machine that ruins everything it touches and then some.
