Age of empires and Age of empires gold was the start of an awesome strategy game series. Its easy handling and real time historical campaigns give you lessons on history while having fun with it. Age of Empires gold is much better than the original AOE but it's still short. In empire map games you start with a town center and 3 villagers like the other games. But this just seems short. You don't get a big variety of buildings and units as you advance through the ages. Age of Empires 2 and 3 changes that. But AOE1 just doesn't seem quite right. A good thing is that now you can get AOE1 gold and AOE2 gold for just 10 dollars. An awesome deal if you're an AOE fan. AOE1 has horrible graphics. And although the game handles nicely, the game play, though similar to the others has also come up short.
I'd recommend this game to anyone who wants a cheap fighting pc strategy game.
