Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Highly addictive"
I have never really been into the whole "Online Gaming", that is, until I played Age of Conan. The only other game I have played that is online was Guild Wars and dear God Age of Conan IS WAAAAAAAAY BETTER than GW. AoC is just a really addicting game to play and sucks you in from part one. The combat is unique and different which gives it points.
Here are some facts for people who haven't played AoC yet and are curious about playing it:
(For AoC it cost 15$ a month to play, but its worth it, trust me.
Also if you get this game and are having trouble installing it to your PC and updating the patches for it (like I did). It really helps to turn off your anti-virus and firewall so your computer can download everything. Also if you have Vista and get done installing the game and there isnt a shortcut for AoC on your desktop, dont freak out, click on the "Start" button on your bottom toolbar and go to "Games", it should be there. I'm just putting this down incase people want to play the game and/or have installed it and having troubles at first, becuase I did and I know it sucks. Now back to reviewing the game :D)
Story- I'm not even half way into the game and I can safely say that it's really growing on me. It will suck you in from the start of the game.
Gameplay- Great, the combat is alot of fun and always different because you have to watch your enemies defenses and attack them where they are open. Oh and you attack by using the Number Keys on the keyboard.
Music- Gorgeous. Lovely symphany music alot with trible chatting really makes the game alive during situations of the gameplay.
Graphics- If you have a good enough graphics card, the graphics are amazing. You can play AoC with Directx9 or Directx10. I have directx10, but for me the game runs better with directx9 and I have all the settings on high and it still looks amazing, even without directx10.
The only downside to this game I know of are some glitches and bugs, but the people who made AoC are always working on new patches and to make the game better. So if you are interested in AoC, into RPG's or MMO's, then I say go for it and buy it!!!

Whilst visually impressive, once outside of the 'training grounds', it lacks direction.
