This game is easy to learn but tough to master.
Online:
The GOOD - It's a lot of fun, and is quick to learn. You can jump right in.
The BAD - You'll find some teammates will horde all the Ship Upgrades and leave any towns captured vulnerable to attack because of their selfishness. Some teammates won't co-ordinate attacks and leave you alone to face death. The darn "Pilfer Monkey" Curse is really frustrating, just when you think you'll be able to Upgrade your Town/Ship, that darn curse is used and you're back to square one. The key to a good match: Before the match, set objects, assign duties, and co-ordinate attacks on specific areas of contention with your Teammate/s.
Offline:
The GOOD - Same as GOOD "ONLINE" above. And Map Editor is a snap to learn and use.
The BAD - The Offline matches against the AI can be a bit boring and repetitive. The SIngle Player "CHALLENGES" are easy and challenging at "EASY" & "MEDIUM", but can be next to impossible at the "HARD" difficulty setting. Your AI team mates will often hinder your progress toward victory. It would be helpful if you could give your AI teammates commands, but you can't. The only saving grace, preventing utter frustration with the game, is that the stated requirements for victory (ie. capture 5 Towns) are overlooked by the game. You just have to beat the other team (ie. have more captured towns than them) to achieve victory in the challenge. Some of the HARD challenges can be completed as required, but some will drive you mad with frustration if you try to meet the stated requirement.
Wish List:
#1 Add ability to command AI teammates.
#2 Improve AI for Offline Matches and SP Challenges.
#3 Remove "Pilfer Monkey" Curse.
#4 Add ability to stop "Vibration" of controllers - gets really annoying after a while and sucks battery life from controller, remember, this is a game where you're constantly getting hit by cannon fire.
#5 Add ability to create new AI Players for Offline Matches.
