Finaly a RTS game I can play.Yes it may be a little bland for the huge RTS fan but it makes up for it with pure fun.
I'm not the smartest spork in the pork n' beans so I've never been good at RTS.I love the concept I just can not multitask that well.I tend to forget a troop I've built or I build the incorrect things in the incorrect order.So this game is dumbed down quite a bit.Witch is good for me.
For huge fans of RTS games I would say yes it is not a deep RTS game.However don't forget this is just an arcade game.So it caters to the pick up and play crowd but still has the basic RTS collect gold and wood and upgrade stuff game play.If any thing it may be a good way to get people into RTS games.
The game is basically you and your ship.Yes just one ship.When you get more than one they are controlled by the AI and do a good job at not being completely stooped.You can collect items buy attacking on shore villages or picking up crates floating in the water.That's where you get your wood,gold and ale.All witch help in upgrading your ships or your Cities.A captured City will also provide you with these thing depending on the City.The end goal is to capture X amount of cities before time runs out.If time dose run out the side with the most cities wins.
For me the most fun is when you sink a random ship and it drops cards to use against your opponents.Such as whirlpools,bombs,ghost ship and cards that take away there loot.All there to throw a wrench into there plans.
The multiplayer is great fun if you play with people who talk strategies.If not you are in for a ruff ride.The single player consists of several pre made missions with 3 difficulty settings.There is also a map creator that you can use to make your own online maps!!
A very good package that is actually worth the $10.
