The control System takes a little while to get used to, and after my first game (20 goal drubbing) i switched to amatuer difficulty for a while. Once you pick it up its REALLY GOOD FUN. There can be alot of stoppages and ruck contests at times but when you get a good clearance and have a run, take a good mark and boot a goal you pretty much pump your fist in the air and jump off the couch.
I have just started a Premiership season, and it's great. I cant wait to try online (PSN recovers), and I have been playing with/against a mate and that's heaps of fun. So i think this is a game that will keep you going for a while.
There is a few little things that can annoy, (like any game!), like when you notice the lack of detail in the crowd, and Dennis Commetti repeating the same joke for the 100th time. Sometimes the controls switch to the closest player to the ball, but your controlling someone else (running towards the ball), then all of a sudden you switch and the new player runs away from the ball. But you can change settings and have it so all changes are manual so its no big deal.
The tackles, marks and spoils feel awesome. Once you get the hang of weighting kicks, quick stab passes, torpedos, handballs and goal kicking this game rocks.
You can make players, build teams, build custom comps, there is heaps to this game.
If you like AFL you should get this game!
