After the first abysmal failure hit the shelves, almost no one has given the second title a chance, that's a shame.

User Rating: 8.1 | Aero the Acro-Bat 2 SNES
The first Aero game was a game that tricked many people into buying into its fresh ideas that were obviously all ruined with garbage level design and game-play. For the second time around, this is not the case. Aero The Acro-Bat 2 has leaped above its predecessor in almost every category.

The presentation in this installment is crisp and adds much value to the game. The most noticeable change would be the more in-depth animation the Aero himself sports; with more emotional expressions and little things like how his cape flaps around with every movement. The level graphics are a huge improvement upon the first game, in Aero 2 the levels aren't just random objects and obstacles, they're actually more realistic, which makes it feel like your going through an actual place, rather than a maze. That's really the best thing about this game, there's a huge variety of levels that you encounter, from snow landscapes to evil dark circus areas. The music isn't amazing in Aero 2, but it does provide a competent mood match to each level, which is very important considering this game actually strays away from the circus feel most of the game.

The game-play has been reinvented for this second act. I'd have to say that's mainly from the drastic level set up change the game has gone through. Most levels provide their own experiences, puzzles, and action that will keep you interested. My most favorite part was when I got to snowboard for my first time, its instances like this that will give you something to remember the game by, providing something special that enhances the overall replay value. There's also a mini-game you'll be joining in on between levels, in order to earn yourself some extra lives; this game is your classic, fallow which cup your prize is under while the cups get mixed around for a while, it's easy at first, but by the end of the game these cups will be mixed around unbelievably fast.

Like many games of Aero The Acro-Bat 2's caliper, the franchise's shadowy past has neglected the sequels from recognition. If you like fast, fun, platfroming action, give this title a try, you'll be more than pleased.
