A great multiplayer game with several flaws yet it is free
Aegis wing is a Free (to the u.s only) Xbox live arcade game made by three interns working at Microsoft. Aegis wings plays like a traditional side scrolling space ship shooter with tons of enemies on screen with each level ending with a rather easy boss. You and up to 3 friends can tackle the single player at two difficulty levels.
The Graphics are good with missiles and engine thrusters flaring up with lots of different color sparks. The game play is passable yet it is very repetitive. You will probably end up with you're finger on the fire button all the time yet this is understandable when 15 enemies are shooting at you constantly. When playing with your friends there are so many lasers and ships flying around its very easy to loose you ship for a couple of seconds which is unacceptably when you playing on insane with 1 live only. If playing with friends at any time you can hook you're ship up to the bottom of your friend's ship and he fly's while you both shoot. When attached you're power ups (missiles, bigger lasers) are more power full and can fill up the entire screen which is a visual treat.
The sound track is decent but gets very annoying really fast. The achievements can be achieved through one play through with friends but for some reason beating the game on insane doesn't unlock the beating the game on normal achievement. Ageis Wing is a great while played with friends and its free but repetitive game play and boring to play by your self hold it back from being great.
