Act of war direct action was a very fun game. I havnt played it in some time though. The story line of the game was very compelling and exciting. It was as iff i was sucked in as a commander of during an imaginary what if scenario against highly skilled and well outfitted terrorists. It is very much resemblance of a World War 3 Soviet American conflict. The acting in the game using real life action sequences is very much new in exciting. The game very much resembles command and conquer. In my opinion this game is better than any command and conquer game though. I never got around to playing multiplayer. This was just due to the fact that the singleplayer options were very adequete at making the game fun. It seems like now a days games revolve around the multiplayer gameplay. Which isnt bad, its just most games lackk a good singleplayer mode. While this game dished out a very fun singleplayer mode. The singleplayer kept me sucked in for many hours at a time. The actual gameplay is easily handled. It works like most traditional RTS games, where you build a base and send out your army to destroy the enemy bases. It was very nice watching armies of Abhrams tanks roll out and destroy enemy armored forces. Or watch enemy bases disintegrate underneath heavy ariel bombardment. You can play as three factions in the game, i dont remember the exact names of them. They included the american army, and an american special forces group called task force talon i think. And a high tech terrorist organization. All three factions were fun to play as. Although you could clearly see each units counterpart on the oppposing factions. There were few special units for each faction, that made it less complicated and almost too simple. Also the problem came where the battles became to simple when you could just amass a huge force of hundreds of tanks and use a frontal attack on the enemies base and win. All around though the game was very fun. I would encourage you to get this game. For more hardcore stategy gamers this game may appear to easy for them though, but it is still good fun!
