The Best Submarine Simulation before Silent Hunter!

User Rating: 9.8 | Aces of the Deep (Jewel Case) PC
Aces of the Deep is a 1994 game by Dynamix (Sierra Company that no longer exist) You play as a german submarine captain commanding a U-boat in the atlantic ocean. There are over 20 detailed ships and aircraft. Great Graphics for a MS-DOS Game. I have a computer i use that was made in 1995 built for this game alone. I installed DOS 6.22 on it :D Gameplay: As you start in 1939,1940 the allies dont have their act together. The ships that you can sink are going slow. (Except for the 22 knot speed Troop Ship alone) As you get towards the end of the war they start going faster. Luckily you get better boats as the war progresses. There are Realism settings. And when your playing the game you can check the map to see where you are in the atlantic ocean. It also shows you the allied airbases. (Blue Squares) And Convoys seen by other U-Boats (Black Squares). And U-Boat Bases (Green Squares) And light grey to dark grey which im thinking it means some activity there to check out. Realism: The realism settins are pretty slick. Silent Hunter has basically the same realism settings. I would reccomend if your a nOOb to this game to take it easy first. The allies have their act together anytime! On the realistic side it takes like 13 minutes to load a torpedoe. And if your taking a LOOONNG cruise to the atlantic. Use the + key on the side of the keyboard to increase the speed of time and - to decrease it. The time uses binary only to a point

Tonnage Aces: In AOD you get to compete against other Real-Life U-Boat Captains during the second world war. Well i hope i did a great job on this review since its prolly the only one since the internet came out a year later for this game. Thanks for your time reading this.
