Nothing new has been added to the Ace Combat formula, this is still the easy to pick up, hard to put down game we love.

User Rating: 7.8 | Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War PS2
Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War is set 5 years prior to the events of Ace Combat 5, which is a great game. You play as a mercenary fighting in the Belkan War. This is the first prequel for Ace Combat and this is the seventh game in the story. The sixth to add to the series. (Ace Combat Advance for the GBA was just really a bad remake of the original.)

THE GOOD- Ace Combat is still the best flight combat game out there. Most flight sims take a long time to learn the controls and you really have to sit there and play the game for a while to master the controls. But Ace Combat has always been easy to pick up but hard to put down.
The jets looking highly realistic. The jet model's graphics are very smooth. The sound is also top-notch. The jet engines sound great. And the voice acting in cut-scenes is great.
A jet sim with a great story. You don't see too many of those these days. The story really makes you want to keep playing.

THE BAD- This is the same game as the previous Ace Combat games. Not much new gameplay is added to the game. It feels like your playing Ace Combat 5 but with better graphics.
Online deathmatchs would have been awesome. But alas, no online.
Like all jet sims, the radio chatter repeats sometimes. Star Fox 64 anyone? "Do a barrel roll!" This has always been my biggest problem with with flight sims

Overall, Ace Combat Zero is a decent combat jet sim and worthy of the Ace Combat name. But a lot more new features and such should have been added.
