One of the finest fighter sims available, right in the palm of your hand.

User Rating: 9 | Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception PSP
This game is fantastic, no ifs or buts. The graphics are impressive to say the least, especially for the PSP, and the sound is remarkably realistic. The game play is terribly addictive as well as diverse and will take you to a vast array of locations requiring a vast array of different aircraft and weapons. And this is where Skies of Deception comes into its own, with 40 (yes, 40) different aircraft, each with its own pros and cons, the choice is difficult however can make the difference between success or failure for the mission. The special weapons are amazing too, they can pretty well fill any need you have, and while the better ones come at a heft price, this can easily be covered by repeating previous missions, which in fact doesn't get boring as it may in other games, there is always something you could do better and the perfect sortie is always something to keep in your sights.
This is by no means your straight-forward fighter sim, the missions range from fast-paced dogfights, to nape-of-the-earth air to ground missions which will have you flying at low level through canyons and mountain ranges where the slightest twitch of the thumbstick can turn you and your multi-million dollar aircraft into a smudge on a rockface. There is also the boss battles, these are fun. I've encountered one in my relatively short flight career with the Aurelian Air Force, and I have since repeated the mission half a dozen times it was that exhilarating.
A must have for any one after a good, fun flight sim, perhaps not on par with sims like Falcon 4.0 for realism, but the huge selection of aircraft, weapons and upgrades more then makes up for this. BUY THIS GAME.
