this game fails
the bad:
health system: the traditional health system changes into a version that heals your plane over time and feels very unrealistic(gears of war style). While this system may work for 3rd person shooters it fails horribly with planes
DFM mode: It practically flies the plane for you, it's like a arcade game rail shooter
over-reliance of DFM mode:to get any kills what so ever, you must engage the aircraft in DFM or your missiles will likely miss.
loss of wingman commands: your wingmen do nothing, absolutely nothing
special weapons changes: special weapons are all released at the same time now, this makes you waste many shots and seems rather unimpressive when you score a kill.
story: you never really feel any connection with your characters, and their overblown stereotypes make me cringe. Also there seems to be little reason for anything happening in the plot. More like they just threw it together as a afterthought.

I hate to say this but im starting to miss hearing "go dance with the angels" and am going to wait on the next game till well after release, cause this was a huge letdown
