The sequel to a great cross over mecha video game that continues to grow.

As much as I like mecha, this game does deliver, there are improvements and changes from the second game and introduces new modes and elements to add to the game.

However just like the rest of the prequels, the main attraction is it's cross over of different mecha, which remain its strongest point. There are over 100 mecha from different animes to unlock, each with it's own arsenal of firepower. From the fast transforming mecha from Marcross to the powerful mechs from Gundam Wing, they all have their own advantages.

The improvements include visuals in cutscenes, graphics and levels, controls and sounds as well as gameplay.

The graphics have improved a lot, the terrain looks a lot better, however, its does still feel a little empty in some stages. The cutscenes are wonderful, as the characters are fully animated visually within the game and does show off what the game is really about, a good improvement over the second game. 2D portraits are still used in the game.

Controls have improved, you can hold the R1 button down and launch different weapons during gameplay, an easier choice and nice change from the second game.

The maps show the battlefield in real time and can be toggled when in battle. The missions are longer and filled more with gameplay and can make strategic decisions during gameplay. The new element in the game is that you can make choices which allow you take on different missions during the story mode. Overall, the game play is extremely solid.

There a lot of replay value, including a 2 player battles mode, co-op missions and to replay mission from the main story.

If your curious and start learning about mecha, this would be a good starting point, however this game is for true mecha fans.
