I prefer to use and have almost exclusively used FemShep across my Mass Effect Campaigns which is probably something around 15 playthroughs already. In response to the comment in the video saying that they need to be buffer I disagree. They may be soldiers but strength isn't needed to shoot, use tech, or use biotechs, and these female soldier are flexible and toned enough that they can handle anything thrown their way!

....wait wait is this guys name "Guy Cocker"? really Gamespot? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

In answer to the statement made in the video that - "Despite the fact that only 20% of ME2 players use the female Shepard" I offer the following Australian expression ... "Pig's Arse" Thank you.

scribeman 7 pts

I've exclusively played female Shephards since ME1. I am sick to death of macho manly men macho-ing it up around town with their macho selves. In a world where "skin" has to be replaced with "manhide" because advertisers do not believe men have enough emotional security to buy soap that also moisturizes, haven't we just about had enough? Can anyone take anymore of male characters and their severe, very Freudian issues? Hell no. My Shephard has flawless makeup, highlights, black lipstick and a sniper rifle. You go get 'em, girl.

I won't deny that having FemShep is a good idea, but why they choose not to have the choice on which sex is odd.I've played both 1 & 2 as both sex's and I won't deny that she's much better to choose. But I still think it's fair to play both if given the choice.

Pumpkinhead3 5 pts

Raikoh_ It's in the video. Guy says "Despite the fact that only 20% of ME2 players use the female Shepard..."

Voredor 5 pts

yes cause soldiers that are trying to save the world like to dye their hair at their free time. +_+ are we ganna see a red haired samus next???

ErikElfEar 5 pts

I for one voted for the redhead femshep, so Im quite pleased with the look.

Danituga 9 pts

Fem Shep XD. It is going to be nice lol

TyrannicFeenix 5 pts

So glad I forked out the extra cash for the Collector's Edition coz that just got so much better. Nice work Bioware.

King_Wii 7 pts

I love femshep and I'm totaly using the offical fem shep look! I've played femshep since ME1 and I've never had a visual representation of what she looks like untill now. Woot for femshep!!!!

kedj 5 pts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsub6fzAbBQ a link to a vid w/ a very large amount of Female Marines. They go through the same basic training as the dudes. Notice how they don't all look like she hulk, and I may remind you that not even have of male soldiers look like they lift weights. It's about tone and longevity not short bursts when it comes to using your hardware.

OortCloud33 7 pts

@Claudius_Ceasar Microsoft gave vouchers to people when they lowered the original Xbox price.

reavin81 6 pts

a femshep is the only to play it id rather stare 18 to 30 hours looking at a chick sheperd then a dude come on u know im right

anthonycg 5 pts

@Yulaw2000 Femshep sitting down in a skirt is fairly disturbing. Just go talk to Garrus...

Yulaw2000 115 pts

I'm glad that BioWare did not listen to kratospwnsnoobz and make femshep into She-Hulk. It's disturbing enough that the Mass Effect chicks all sit like blokes.

dreamgod247 14 pts

Fatal Frame 3DS is coming out and it's going to freaking insane

anthonycg 5 pts

And why does this even matter??? I don't think I've ever used a default character anyway. Wait what's that? Why yes when you play the game you CAN change the hair color! YES YOU CAN!! Wow thanks Obama!

And this video game logic says nothing about these "recessive genes" being completely wiped out anyway! And like the last dude said, she probably just dyed it red! Yes kids, in the future they will have technology that lets you change the color of your hair! And they'll have all sorts of other cool things too like toilet tissue and buttered toast!! Yay future!!!

Bobzfamily 11 pts

@XtremeDude09 Yeah, but the contemporary duo-genetic model doesn't take into account all different shades of brown, blonde, and red hair. In most uses folks taking yellow and and RED hair respectively.

anthonycg 5 pts

@stailcookie There was no "official" FemShep for commercials and such as there was an official MaleShep. (the guy on the box)

Tripwolf 111 pts

Bioware gave in to all the blonde-female haters. It makes me sick. All the fans that voted for blonde shep the first time around weren't made aware that there would be a second round of voting and Bioware knew that. It's a sad state of things when hatred towards a hair color is not only tolerated but advocated.

XtremeDude09 5 pts

@Bobzfamily Blond and Red hair is recessive but hair colour is not a single allele.

Black_Id_Jenova 6 pts

ummm i use to play femshep aside from maleshep, but when i see this pic i feel sorry, why they put this babe in last installment, now i feel sorry with my fem shep... btw she is hot... Redhair babe what more you ask???

Bobzfamily 11 pts

Geez, the books never explicity described the disappearance of red and blonde hair. The blonde hair allele isn't recessive for one thing, I know several girls of mixed races who have blonde hair.

napalmburnz1 5 pts

dang i played both ME games as fem character, was the most evil, and in the second one even kept the scars. Hooray for gingers and the cover looks hella cool !

stailcookie 14 pts

Wasn't there already a default femshep in 1&2? What was the point of making a big deal out of a new one for 3? Character faces are customizable in the game anyways... I'm all for more fems in games, but (similar to lollipop chainsaw or w/e it's called) a picture of a model with some dirt on her cheek slapped on the cover doesn't really make positive strides in that direction.

StaticPenguin 16 pts

@Pumpkinhead3 Where are you getting your stats from? Lat time I checked, a lot of people prefer femshep over broshep.

killersrike 5 pts

(\____/) haters will be haters XD

Pumpkinhead3 5 pts

I don't understand putting a new face (FemShep) on the collector's edition. This is one of the most anticipated games of all time for some people, so why throw in a new face that 80% of us don't care about?

1nitram2 14 pts

@McBoogerballz I own all the systems so i am not a nintendo fanboy, but ms and sony are not perfect either. If i remember it right the PS3 sold bad until sony lowerd the price for it. How fast they did it does not matter, in the end it is the same thing. ;)

Femshep reminds me of Hayley Williams.

zoeyleft 9 pts

this guy does very good reviews. but he aint charismatic

L0s3rx 5 pts

Of all the stupid things to complain about, FemShep being on the cover? Sexism is still alive and well, I see. She's not a ginger. The host of this video looks more like a ginger.

Raven_1981 5 pts

I like the cover, I think its cool that girls are being more and more involved in video games, we like to play too!!!!!! :)

NightRain 6 pts

Hooray for redhead FemShep!! :D

Asheileon 12 pts

I don't see why the gender thing is something to complain about, you can customize Shepard's face so as long as he/she is just called Shepard(last name) I for one don't see the problem...... but yes it annoys me a bit thou.

jamesbigmac 16 pts

If anyone complains about a redheaded femshep being on the cover, grow up. She's a hot redhead. Deal with it!

Claudius_Ceasar 5 pts

Sony and Microsoft never offer anything free when they drop the price of their systems. So I don't understand why anyone would complain about getting 20 free games!

avenger_20 5 pts

to put in the best cry ever is litterly epic but yeahh for gingers is even better

endorbr 121 pts

Well I wasn't going to say anything about the shirt but since you brought it up... :D

CylonRaider01 11 pts

"She dyed it.Explanation over" lol that explains all.

FaYt2021 20 pts

Lol wow people never stop crying!
