A great pool representation.

User Rating: 7 | 3D Ultra Cool Pool PC
Introduction: 3D Ultra Cool Pool was released in 1999 by Sierra, although any support and acknowledgement of its existance seems to have dissapeared from Sierra. 3DUCP allows you to play several variations of Pool, on several types of pool tables, and multiplayer as well. Gameplay: 3DUCP's gameplay is farely simple, requiring nothing more then a mouse really. When you first launch the game, you can choose from 5 types of games: Basic Pocket Billiards, Cutthroat, 8 ball, 9 ball, and Rotation. In addition to these 'real' games, you can choose from 5 other games, 24 cents, Mad Bomber, Chameleon Ball, Poker and Rocket ball. With these 5 custom games, you can also choose to play them on specially shaped tables corusponding to each of the games. Once you've chosen the rest of the game options, you'll be taken to the table. Depending on the game difficulty, you can change where the cueball is aimed at, as well as changing the spin on the ball, and of course, shooting. Along with the normal playing mode, you can also play online with other people. You can create a room of your choosing, and just wait for someone to join. Theres minor lag in between turns, but nothing that can bother you. Story: ......... Graphics and Sound: The graphics and sound in 3DUCP are very well done. Just looking down ontop of the table, everything looks semi-3D and realistic, down to the shine on the pool balls. You can also switch to several 3D perspectives which give the game a truely real feel to it. The sounds of the balls colliding with each other are realistic as well, and the voice of the computer telling you when your turn is over doesnt annoy you during gameplay. Replayability: If your into pool, then this game has much replayability. With so many types of games, its easy for poollovers to not get bored. Final Recommendation: In the end, i give 3D Ultra Cool Pool a 7/10. The game does a great job of giving a realistic Pool experiance, and comes with enough multiplayer and game choices to keep even non-serious pool players happy.
