Start a New Game, select a character and when it asks for you to enter your name input SPELUNKER. This will put the game in Spelunker Mode. While playing a game in From mode, you can run into Spelunker who is trapped in the area that can be found in the upper left corner of the map. To free him, you need to use the flame wand on the stump to the right of him. Doing so will free him and allow you to select Spelunker mode when starting either a new game or a new game +.
