Not the best game to be remade, but as a free game, it was nice (not free anymore).

User Rating: 6.5 | 3D Classics: Excitebike 3DS
Gameplay: 3D classics: Excitebike is a 3D remake of the classic game from the NES era. The gameplay remains the same; players control a character who races in different tracks. The "charm" or "appeal" of the game is the strategy needed in the game. For example, sometimes you'll have to race slowly so you won't crash or fall from a little mountain, and at other times, you'll have to use turbo, taking care not to overheat your bike.
The game can get quite annoying, it's not easy not to constantly crash.
There are three modes. One is racing alone, sort of like in a time trial. Another is racing against CPUs, but still trying to get the best time; what I mean is the CPUs don't actually matter and they're just there to stop you and make you fall.
The third mode is a track creator, which some people might get fond of because you can save tracks. Personally, I don't care about it; plus you can't trade tracks which is a huge con.

Presentation: The new novelty of the game is the 3D effect, which is pretty good, adding some depth to the tracks. The graphics received a slight update, adding clouds and other stuff to the background; plus it's widescreen now.
The sound is almost minimal, with a few tracks in the menu and some quite annoying sound effects in the middle of tracks. This game would have benefited a lot from letting people use tracks from the SD card, like Excitetruck did, but unfortunately, there's no music at all during gameplay.
8/10

Replay Value: You can try to beat your high score or create new innovative tracks (even though the options are pretty limited on the track creator). That's all there is to the game, and nothing else was expected considering the original game didn't include anything else.
8/10

Fun: The game wasn't very fun for me, mainly due to the difficulty and how annoying it is to have to retry tracks a lot of times to nail how to do it. If you're very enthusiastic, maybe you'll enjoy it, but I didn't. It's not a game you can actually relax while playing.
5/10

Overall: If you got this for free, there is a chance you might enjoy it for a while, but otherwise, don't buy it, or you'll regret your purchase despite the nice 3D and track creator.
