Money well spent regardless of whether you own FIFA 10 or not.

I can sense that FIFA 11 will be brilliant; this has hints of what is next to come and I personally cannot wait!

Firstly, credit goes to GameSpot for writing up another excellent review. They summed up all the pros and cons very well so I wont need to go into much detail here. I originally pre ordered 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and received it a day before it hit the shelves. I've played through the single player FIFA World Cup, fought online in the FIFA World Cup mode as lower rated countries (bigger points if you play and win with smaller countries), and currently hammering the head to head online mode similar to that of FIFA 10 but with a better ranking system.

The Gameplay is smoother even when you thought it couldn't get any smoother. Less fouls are given resulting in faster gameplay and better counter attacks. Goals are slightly easier to score especially on headers but the tackling department has had an even bigger boost, making it easier to get those last second sliding tackles in or those goal-line clearances- the chances of you scoring or tackling has been tuned nicely to this effect. I also noticed that free kicks seem to go in more than they use to. The menus and graphics have been thoroughly redesigned and the in game celebrations are even better and more entertaining to perform than ever before. The audio has had a revamp, with more realistic commentary and crowd sounds. Even if kids or perhaps a female who knows nothing about football wants to play, there is the silly two button configuration for beginners which us 'advanced' players will never need to know about or use. What really makes this game is the online play. The options are plentiful and no matter which mode you choose you are guaranteed to have a good time. GameSpot mentioned the lag issue in their review- I did notice this at the time of release but I think EA have since addressed the issue, which may have been to do with the online servers.

I've already sold my copy of FIFA 10. You knew as well as I did that this was going to be a better game so my question is, will I be seeing you online? :-)

NOTE: Just to clarify, people ask about my last review with FIFA 10 on the PC which received a very low score but my experience on the PS3 was totally different to that of the PC version; I am a revert to the FIFA new world order after many glorious years of Pro Evolution Soccer (to which I have no intention of going back to now).
