This Game Kicks So Much Ass...........Because its FUN!
The graphics are a mixed bag , as There are some cool effects with speed and explosions , but the graphics arnt as good as they could of been , Half way between a ps1 game and the current superpowers of racing graphics , 187 gives some neat touches , but dos'nt set the world on fire, Cars are Bulky and shiney and the streets look nice ( even if they arnt varied that often)
The Sound is pretty good , It has god awful music , and the Street " Lingo" is pumped up to the maxinum , but it doesnt hurt the game that much . The over use of the F word is pretty horrid , but the engines , tires and explosions are spot on.
The gamplay is the saving grace of this game , as we mix Kart racing combat with Burnout style racing. The racing is Fun , fast and furious , the Shotgun blasts and Mine- dropping are well presented in controls and ...well....in the fact that its just plain fun. The Main Mode You will have to play is the Story mode that puts u in a rather boring story , that i didnt give a crap about , lucky there was the fact that the races are pure fun , so that kept me to stay for "one more race". The race modes vary from straight racing , to Lap Kockout , to Survival races to a great race where you drop Mines and have to advoid everyone elses mines , and still place first , ( this is my favourite because it requires strategy) Racing in any mode is pure fun , as the cars screech around the corners and "killing" your other racers with multiple weapon shots is well presented and rewarding with Death blow Cutscenes.
There are a few Cars and Drivers in the game , but you have to unlock all but one ( of each) through the stpry mode . Overall This game is Fun , If you want to go into all its faults then your missing out on a Kick ass game ............
Afterall isnt gaming all about.....FUN?
