Boring Simulator: The Game
this game is SOOO disappointing. I shall tell you why. Let's start with the most unimportant thing in simulators- graphics. Ah, and I'd like to tell you I love simulators. It's not like I'm a kid with short attention span, this game IS boring. There's nothing to say about the graphics really- they simply get the job done. Don't expect anything too fancy though. 18 Wheels of Steel doesn't look good for a 2011 game. Environment isn't ugly but this game really needs better textures. Cockpits look nice although there's nothing too fancy about them either. You can see for yourself on YouTube or Google Images. As I said, the graphics simply get the job done- you can see where's the road, where's the grass, you can see the steering wheel in the cockpit- that's OK, but 18 Wheels of Steel isn't a great game for taking screenshots to show how great your PC is. 6,5/10
There aren't many sounds, but at least they sound OK. The music, on the other hand, is composed of one track which plays when the game is loading. That track IS SO ANNOYING. Also, there is no radio. You have to put all songs yourself. Couldn't ValuSoft put some licensed tracks? They wouldn't have to be greatest hits- just some songs to add realism to 18 Wheels of Steel. 6/10
Now it is time for me to describe the worst part of this game: GAMEPLAY. DUN DUN DUN!
Gameplay consists of going around the world (5 very tiny places- Alaska, Australia, Montana, Bangladesh and north South America. They're not tiny in real life, but they are in 18 Wheels) and…DRIVING! Too bad driving isn't fun at all. Traffic? HAHAHA NOPE. There is no traffic. I MEAN IT. NO TRAFFIC AT ALL, BESIDES FOR 3 CARS/TRUCKS sometimes blocking your way (they're driving very slow, that's why I used the word ,,blocking''). No pedestrians. No police.
Damage system? HAHAHA NOPE. You can hit a moving truck at max speed and you'll be okay. Going offroad at least a bit? NOPE. If you drive off the road too far, the game will tell you you failed to do your job and will offer you a job restart. No freedom, you have to stick to the roads or game over. Day and night cycle? Almost nonexistent. Night is so bright you don't have to turn your lights on. Besides it lasts for 3 minutes max. Driving system? Either I'm very good at driving trucks, or this game is to easy. This game is really disappointing. I've played it for about 6 hours and I have enough. 18 Wheels of Steel is bad. I honestly expected more from this.
