Once again you play as Kite trying to rid the online game called The World of an infection that is actually effecting the real world as well. In this third installment of the .Hack series it's alot of the same as the first 2 games, only the enemies are harder and you get to use 2 new characters.

If you read my first 2 reviews on Parts 1 & 2 then you will get the jist of what this game is about. Basically you have to enter into different areas of The World in order to seek and destroy this mysterious virus/infection that is spreading and causing real people to go into coma's. You get the help of several characters along the way, each with their own special abilities. So you have alot of choices most of the time on who to use and what parties to form. There are some missions where you have to take certain players along to follow the storyline.

The graphics arent that good in this game, as like the previous 2 games. The dungeons and fields all look the same and the layouts get repetative after a while. The infection makes it look even worse. The same goes with the sound as the dungeon levels also all sound the same after a while.

The gameplay however is actually pretty good, at least I think so. You travel on the fields or dungeons and find yellow portals that opn when you approach and reveal monsters or treasure chests. The monsters vary in elements and size and can be difficult at times depending on yours and their levels. Plus sometimes you get many enemies at once from one portal or from 2 portals very close to each other. The battles are in real time and you can run around the area fighting or using magic. You control the main character Kite at all times but you can give "orders" to the other 2 players so they attack and heal accordingly.

Also, another Root town is opened and the NPC have better weapons and items to trade for. Most of the time I find the best stuff with the NPC's then at the shops in the town. It makes it very easy to equip the best items right away before you even play out the first mission because you can trade for items as soon as you start the game.

So if you've played the first 2 games, you will also enjoy this one as the storyline continues and there are more Boss battles. The dungeons reach level 70 so you can get your characters to about 74 pretty easily. Well... on to Part 4.
