I would like to first point out that this is a game series and you cannot simply just base this game off of this one. Doing so would be unfair to it. In this game there is quite a bit of freedom that you have. You can pick between four weapons throughout the game that are each quite fun to use. If you would like to get the full enjoyment of the game I would suggest not using the guns for as long as the game is. They are extremely unfair to your opponents and you will fly through the game. I myself think that the scythe was the most fun weapon of the game. All of the moves were quite entertaining to use and they did a lot of damage. It is your choice though, all of the weapons have potential to do an extreme amount of damage. Going through the game simply playing each level as it comes is the easiest way to play this game, but venturing to difficult areas that will give you a challenge is where the game becomes an actual challenge.
The combat in the game is very repetitive, for that I do apologize, but switch weapons as much as possible and it'll be much better.
The storyline to this game and how it wraps up is insane. I loved the end of this game maybe more than any other game I've played. It's almost like it leaves you with an Inception type ending that there may be another series of games (wouldn't be surprising). There is a secret ending after the forest of pain which I highly suggest doing to give you even more satisfaction. I hope you have a great time experiencing this game and it is not as bad as the Gamespot reviews give it. I give it at least an 8/10.
