Poll Which fighting game should I get? (8 votes)

Fight Night Champion 63%
UFC Undisputed 3 38%

So I'm a big boxing fan, and have been between these two games for a bit now. Not sure which one to get, so I'll let you guys help me out.

For those who own Champion, are the knockouts satisfying? I heard there was an update to the game that actually made it worse and eliminated bleeding; if true, has this been corrected?

Champion is a decent game, but thats all it is. Decent. Fight Night 2 is still the best one. UFC 3 is a lot better.

I'd say go with the UFC

Champion is fun but it gets old fast

@Blueresident87:

Hmm, even if I'm not big on the ground game and prefer boxing IRL?

As it stands the poll is tied.

If you don't want to go to the ground, you can just make sure whatever fighter you are using has good takedown defense and turn the fights into boxing matches. It's quite easy to do if your fighter is good enough.

Champion is so cheap to get now though, if you really want a boxing only game get that because obviously the fights will sometimes go to the ground no matter what you do in the UFC.

As far as one of your initial questions that I forgot to answer: the knockouts are not very satisfying. That is much better in UFC. In Champion, it can be fairly tough to create a cut despite repeated hooks and crosses to the face. I swear I jabbed a guy in the face over 200 times in several fights and there was no visible damage, and this was with a pretty good boxer against an average one.

UFC is the better game overall, it just depends on how much boxing exclusively means to you.

Both are decent games but if you like boxing, stick to a boxing game and not a UFC game.

Fight Night Champion's single player is one of the best sports games experiences I've ever had.

The dudes who made it are making the new EA Sports MMA game. I wasn't a fan of the Undisputed series myself.
