SGH's Multimedia Tools
New product will let developers easily and cheaply convert stand-alone games to multiplayer titles.
SGH Multimedia, an Israel-based company for interactive solutions, has developed a technology that can easily and cheaply convert CD-ROM games to network games.
SGH plans to debut its architecture, solutions, and authoring tools at E3 this week. It says this new technology will help overcome latency problems and other online obstacles with a hybrid approach that uses local databases combined with the Internet. SGH, which stands for Synergic Game Hive, sponsors a large multiplayer gaming network that has let 130,000 users experience gameplay with sample titles and demos including Navy Battle, Spell or Hang, BlackJack, Mimix, Tris, and Memory Game.
